How do I stick stud earrings on a bear as a surprise gift to my gf?
Q. I bought stud earrings for my gf. But I was planning to put them on a teddy bear's ears as a different way to present them as a gift. But how should I go about putting them on the bear cause they are stud earrings and I dont want to ruin them.

A. Try making a hole with a needle a little bit bigger than the post and sticking the earrings through there.

Is diamond stud earrings to much for a 1 year anniversary?
Q. I was planning to buy my girlfriend diamond stud earrings for our 1 year anniversary spending between 400-600. I was wondering if that would be to much to do since I already did buy her a necklace and bracelet for previous occassions. To much in the sense of spoiling her and by the way what size should would look good on her 1/3 or 1/2 t.w for a 5'4 height 110 lb person.

Where should I get my first pair of stud earrings after piercing?
Q. I got my ears pierced 5 weeks ago. I'm planning on waiting another 1 or 2 weeks before changing them. Where can I go to get stud earrings that'll be safe for my ears, but still have a selection? And about how much will they cost? Also, how long do I have between taking my earrings out and putting new ones in before the hole closes up at all?

A. don't take your earings out until 8 weeks have passed. last time i took them out after 6 weeks and i couldn't get the earings back in so i had to get them re-pierced. but almost any stud is okay just make sure it is clean..

How long do you have to wait to take your stud earrings out after you got your ears pierced?
Q. I want to take my earrings out soon, because i am already bored with my stud earrings, so how long should i wait to take them out and put different ones in?

A. You want to be extremely cautious. I wouldn't suggest taking them out for at least a month, but keep a pair of earring in all the time, for almost a year. Also be careful that you don't use heavy earrings too early because my sister's earlobe ripped because she was wearing these dangly earrings. Find some cute colorful studs that look awesome. Try something like, and try to keep them clean. Have Fun!!

A. Ian, I expect she will absolutely love a pair of diamond stud earrings. They are an exquisite gift and likely to go with anything and everything she wears. Here are some tips that you should consider: -Are you clear on the interplay between the 4 Cs that determine both the brilliance in terms of how much your diamonds sparkle and the intrinsic value and therefore cost. -Have you thought about the setting that the diamonds will be held in -What sort of metal will you be going for, the most popular these days is either platinum or white gold. Yellow gold is a little dated and less popular -Given your budget what size diamond will you be purchasing. I want to buy high quality diamond stud earrings. What is the most important attribute of the diamond stud?
Q. I know all about the 4 C's. Just want to understand if I make tradeoffs between them which are the most important for diamond stud earrings? Also to the naked eye where does it not pay to go for higher quality (for example clarity above a certain level, etc.) Thanks!
Asked by LoneStar1845 - Thu May 25 11:49:00 2006 - - 3 Answers - 1 Comments
A. For studs - if they arent enormous -- you could probably very go down to a I1 as long as the inclusions are WHITE and the cut is a Very Good or Ideal. Color can probably also go to an I again if the cut is very good or ideal. Order online and save money - if you do make sure they have a good return policy in case they arent what you expected.

Should I shower/and go to sleep with my diamond stud earrings on?
Q. I have showered with them on and nothing has happened. I just havent slept with them on yet. I just wonder if I should be worried about the stones falling out. I used special earring backs with these that snap into place and only come off when you want them off, so I am not worried about the earring coming off just the stones. Both my diamond stud earrings are about 1/2 carat stones.
Asked by treyc_25 - Wed Mar 24 16:56:16 2010 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments
A. If they are of good quality and sold to you by a reputable jeweler, the stones shouldn't fall out just because you slept with your earrings in. If it makes you feel better, take them to your jeweler and ask that they inspect the prongs- this will give the jeweler the chance to fix them (for a very low price if not for free) BEFORE the stones fall out. If the earrings are of poor quality or were "cheap," then you might want to take them off at night just to play it safe. Although, if the stone fell out while you were in bed, I imagine you'd be able to find it fairly easily. A half-carat stone isn't exactly small.

Can you wear stud earrings when doing lifeguard training?
Q. I got my ears pierced about 4 weeks ago and i am going this week to training to be a lifeguard, i was wondering if you were allowed to wear stud earrings? or do they make you take them out?
Asked by Alissa. - Mon Mar 15 17:39:58 2010 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Yes, you are allowed, as they are those long dangly ones or hoops. I've worn them during some of my training and it was fine. If you want to make sure 100%, call ahead of time and ask the instructor. The chlorine in the pool also kills bacteria so you actually have a lower risk of infection. GL in your training :)

Q. My wife's ear lobes are not healing properly and regular stud earrings are not long enough for her swolen ears. Where can I find gold earrings with an extra long post for her to wear while her ears heal properly?

A. Go to a jewelry store, you should be able to get them there. Make sure she is using alcohol to clean her ear lobes and the post of the earring. Before putting the earring in cover the post with an antibacterial cream. And maybe she should go to the doctor for antibiotic medicine.

A. they say 6 weeks. but I waited 2 months to avoid infection. Piercing infections are a pain. You have to pay to have them heal. Then wait a few months and get them re pierced. Make sure you clean any earrings you put into your ear. This will help avoid infection. Dont go with giant danglies right away, you'll end up in pain. Try something a bit bigger than your studs. And at night, clean your studs and put them in while you sleep. This will prevent them from closing up. Bandaid makes a blue antibacterial wash. I've always used it for piercings. It's only about $3. And ALWAYS clean earrings before putting them in. It's best to try real metals at first. You may be allergic, and dont want to find out while the hole is still fresh. My… [cont.]

Can anyone find me some ethical/fairtrade gold stud earrings?
Q. They don't have to be pure gold, around 9 carat would be fine... I would like some smallish gold stud earrings that haven't come from some poor kid working all day in a gold mine! Q. I ususally keep my earrings in until I take them out to clean them. I'm worried about removing them every night might weaken the post on the diamond stud. Yet, if it is true you need to take out every night to let your ears "breathe"--I will do it. What is the general consensus here? Thanks.

A. earrings so long as they are not bothering your ears (most people are allergic to the nickel in cheaper costume jewerly) are fine to wear all the time. If they aren't bothering you, you don't need to bother with them. After all, when you first got your ears pierced, you had to leave the studs in forever without taking them out right?

Where and when is it appropriate to wear diamond stud earrings?
Q. For example, Are they fancy enough for attending weddings? Or would something like diamond chandelier earrings be more appropriate? Do people wear them for routine stuff like going to the cinema or when they're out shopping?

A. Diamond stud earrings are very versatile. Depending on their size, they can be worn anywhere. They are fancy enough to be worn to weddings, and can be casual enough to wear out shopping. It's really what's worn with them that would make them either too dressy or casual. If they're really small ones, you could literally wear them anywhere.. even camping, hiking, etc. (large studs might look a bit silly in those situations though).
